Plant dyes are more complicated to work with than chemical dyes. They are more difficult to control and more labour intensive.

When well dyed, however, they have a special beauty and are just as long lasting as the best synthetic dyes.

There is never just a single colour (as in a synthetic dye) and sometimes even as many as ten colours are produced by one dye plant. This is true bio-diversity.
